April 24, a brilliant song-and-dance performance was given by the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Student Art Troupe at HIT, kicking off an open house and series of activities among members of The Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU).
The performance began with a Russian folk dance which was met with thunderous applause. The vigorous dances demonstrated the Russians' characteristic enthusiasm and love for life. The performers, dressed in traditional Russian costumes, also performed Latin dances and Chinese songs, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
FEFU International Education Support Department Director Andrey Bobylo, HIT International Student Center Director GU Jianzheng and School of Foreign Language Vice Dean LIU Ying attended the performance.
The ASRTU and its Joint Graduate School, supported by the Chinese and Russian governments, have become significant platforms for collaboration and exchange in Sino-Russian higher education. The open house and series of activities aim to increase awareness of ASRTU and further technological and cultural cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities, thereby enhancing mutual understanding among the two countries' young people. The activities will culminate in the unveiling of the 2012-13 ASRTU Railway Plan by HIT and Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
With the aim of increasing student exchange with HIT, the FEFU delegation also held an informational meeting, introducing its history and development.
