May 15th, President WANG Shuguo attended the Chiba Institute of Technology’s (CIT) 70th anniversary.
CIT’s Managing Director SETOKUMA Osamu and President MOTOOKA Seiichi warmly welcomed President WANG and his delegation. President WANG reminded CIT university leaders that CIT and HIT have been cooperating since signing an interuniversity agreement in 1980. To date, among all the universities sharing relationships with HIT, CIT was the first to establish diplomatic ties and is still one of HIT’s most important partners.
President WANG said he expected that the two universities would continue and enhance their partnership in the future. Managing Director SETOKUMA and President MOTOOKA expressed that they valued their relationship with HIT, and hoped collaborations between the two universities would contribute to greater exchange among Sino-Japanese universities, while also strengthening the two countries' friendship.
CIT and HIT signed an interuniversity agreement in December, 1980, and have maintained collaborations and exchanges in various fields since then. More than 700 HIT students and professors have visited CIT, including 70 long-term visiting scholars. Meanwhile, over 1500 CIT students and professors have visited HIT.
HIT’s Assistant President LIANG Yingchun, International Office Director FAN Hongbo and Consultant to the Vice President LV Xiaowei also joined the delegation.
