June 9th, HIT President WANG Shuguo addressed the CSC farewell party for studying abroad, which was also HIT International Communication Association (HICA)'s fourth anniversary celebration.
President WANG congratulated the students going to study abroad and expressed his hope that the students would seek the opportunity to touch different culture, obtain knowledge and become first-class talents. Students are expected to be well-prepared for cultural shock, learn from others and tap potentials. President WANG also advised students to get in touch with HIT overseas alumni association in order to shorten the time for adjustment and pass on HIT spirit. He reminded that students would represent HIT and their representation would promote HIT's collaboration with overseas universities.
At the party, LANG Qi, a student who participated in CSC program and would study abroad, thanked HIT which helped and supported students to study overseas. He also expressed that he would live up to HIT's expectation, striving to study and repaying the cultivation from HIT and China.
Vice President REN Nanqi presented awards for HIT's fourth Model United Nation (MUN) Security Council best representative Alex, UN Environment Program best representative SUN Shuqiao and International Monetary Fund best representative JIANG Wei. He expressed his thanks to HICA for its contribution for HIT's globalization. He delivered to the party that globalization has been one of HIT most significant goals. To strengthen HIT international competitiveness and reputation requires efforts from the whole professors, students as well as alumni. To date, HIT overseas alumni association has been established to help HIT students going abroad.
Postgraduate Department Executive Vice Dean ZHEN Liang, International Office Director FAN Hongbo and HICA Student Chair XU Zhongguo delivered speeches successively, making conclusions on CSC's work and HICA's achievement in 2011.
Personnel Department MU Yongguo, School of Material Science and Engineering Party Committee Secretary GENG Lin, and School of Transportation Science and Technology Dean HOU Xiangchen attended the party with over 100 students.
