June 12, the Assistant to President XU Dianguo awarded University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Professor Paul Weiss as HIT honorary professor. 
 
HIT International Office Overseas Personnel Management Section Chief CHANG Jiang presided over the ceremony. School of Chemical Engineering and Technology HUANG Yudong delivered Professor Paul Weiss‘s resume. XU congratulated to Professor Paul Weiss. He presented information about HIT international talent introduction and expressed his hope of Paul Weiss’s contribution to HIT’s disciplinary development. Professor Paul Weiss spoke highly of HIT’s academic achievement in recent years.
 
Professor Paul Weiss is the Director of the California NanoSystems Institute, and the elected fellow of American Physical Society, American Chemical Society (ACS) and American Vacuum Society. He is also the chief editor of ACS Nano, one of the top periodicals in the field of nanometer research. He has published about 300 papers in top periodicals like Science and Nature. This time, at the invitation of HIT School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, he delivered two academic reports.
