From June 12 to 16, HIT Assistant to the President XU Xiaofei with a delegation of five was invited to visit Samara State Aerospace University (SSAU) and Bauman Moscow State technical University (BMSTU), and attended the undergraduate final defense of grade 2008 joint supervised by HIT and SSAU to obtain double majors (Russian-Flight Vehicle Design and Engineering). Agreement was reached on programs including joint supervision of undergraduates and graduates, short-term study tour and summer camp.
In BMSTU, S. V. Korshunov, Vice-Rector for Educational Methodology welcomed the delegation. The development plan was discussed on the execution of the joint supervision program (Russian-Flight Vehicle Design and Engineering). Agreements on sending scholars and exchanging students were gained.
This year, 11 HIT Russian-Flight Vehicle Design double major undergraduates graduated from SSAU. Their theses involved wide knowledge, substantial content and fluent language, which gained appreciation from both universities and symbolized the success of the joint supervision. HIT delegation met with SSAU President Shakhmatov. The two universities agreed on improving syllabus, sending scholars and exchanging students in the joint supervision program.
During the visit, XU delivered the report, Education Development and Innovation of Research-oriented Technical Universities in Globalization, to SSAU and BMSTU teachers and students. The delegation also met with HIT students in these two universities, asking about their study and life conditions, and setting high expectations.
The delegation also included School of Foreign Language Vice Dean LIU Ying, Undergraduate School Education Evaluation and Quality Management Vice Dean WANG Lixin, Aerospace Engineering Department Dean CUI Naigang and Russian Department Vice Dean WANG Lizhong.
