The Third International Conference of New Forming Technology Held in Harbin

The third international conference of new forming technology co-sponsored by HIT and the University of Bremen, Germany was held on August 27th to 28th in Harbin. More than 120 scholars from nearly 20 countries and regions conducted in-depth communications on the cutting-edge academic issues of new forming technology and new materials forming technology. Vice-President of HIT REN Nanqi attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
 
The opening ceremony was presided by the meeting chairman YUAN Shijian who is also the Dean of school of Materials Science and Engineering. Several professors made invited lectures, including Professor Wolfson from University of Bremen, Professor Grundy from Wright State University in the USA, Professor Mori Ichiro from Toyohashi University of Technology in Japan, Project Officer in Materials Dr. Stary Os from EU Seventh Framework and Professor QIN Yi from University of Strathclyde, UK.
 
Participants had exchanges and discussions in groups about cutting-edge issues and the  application of new forming technology and advanced materials forming technology. The well-known scholars from The British Imperial University, Tokyo Metropolitan University, France Reims University and other research institutions exchanged the latest research results. The delegates also visited the National Key Laboratory of metal precision thermal processing in HIT, having further exchanges and exploring opportunities for cooperation.
 
The conference was undertaken by school of Materials Science and Engineering and the National Key Laboratory of metal precision thermal processing. The meeting also received strong support from German Institute of Metal Forming, National Natural Science Foundation and Chinese Plasticity Engineering Society.
 
Vice-President REN Nanqi delivered a speech.
