HIT Holds the First International Excellent Student Summer Camp

July 28th, the opening ceremony of the 1st HIT Star---International Excellent Student Summer Camp was held before the sculpture HIT Star at the Dianji Square. The Assistant to the President XU, Dianguo attended the ceremony and presented a flag for this summer camp. Other attendees included the ISC’s Vice Director LI Xiaohong, ISC’s staffs and 30 students. A special-themed lecture was given after the ceremony.
 
The International Student Center (ISC)’s Director GU Jianzheng chaired the ceremony and two HIT students, one of which came from Japan, delivered a speech, representing students at home and abroad respectively. They were from the School of Energy Science and Technology and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
 
This 1st HIT Star---Summer Camp, comprised of 15 Chinese students and 15 foreign students from 9 countries, was jointly held by ISC and Student Affair Office. This summer camp, named after HIT Star, aimed to inspire its campers to attain more extraordinary achievements.
 
This summer camp set its theme as Environment, Ecology, and Sustainable Development, during which campers would survey Harbin and its surrounding areas including Fujin, Tongjiang and Fuyuan. A series of activities including lecture delivering, report writing, and result presenting would be put on place in the whole summer camp till it closed in August 3rd.
 
Aiming to arise students’ attention on environment protection and urban areas’ sustainable development, this summer camp offered a great opportunity for students at home and abroad to communicate with each other. In addition, it helped HIT to gain more international influence.
