September 8th, Vice President DING Xuemei met with President of the Queen's University of Belfast Peter Gregson and other five professors. Assistant to the President XU Dianguo also attended the meeting. Associate Dean of Electrical Engineering School ZHU Chunbo and WANG Shujuan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation FAN Hongbo and Deputy Director WANG Xiuheng attended the meeting.
 
Vice President DING welcomed the guests and made an introduction of HIT, hoping that multi-leveled exchanges and cooperation in various fields would be carried out between the two universities. Peter Gregson said that they wanted to maintain a good partnership with HIT and carry out exchange and cooperation in more forms. After the meeting, the two sides signed an intercollegiate cooperation agreement.
 
The Queen's University of Belfast is one of the twenty members of the University of British Russell Joint School. It was founded in the Victorian era in 1845 and is one of Britain's oldest ten universities. It is one of the only three universities in UK, which have won the Queen's Anniversary Prize of British higher education and adult education twice.
