On October 11th, Assistant President XU Dianguo met Professor Sean Gorman and other members of the delegation from Queen’s University of Belfast. Assistant President XU and Professor Gorman agreed to increase the frequency of academic exchanges between the students and teachers of the two universities and plan to apply for the scholarship and the research programs of the European Union for comprehensive international exchanges.

Queen's University of Belfast is a member of the Russell Group of 20 leading research intensive universities and one of the top 200 universities around the world. Queen's University Belfast is one of the United Kingdom's 10 oldest universities. The university was first chartered as "Queen's College, Belfast" in 1845. Only three colleges have won the British Higher Education and Adult Education Queen’s Annual Award twice. Queen's University of Belfast is one of them.
