On November 1st, Vice President REN Nanqi attended the Sino-Russian Youth Exchange and One Hundred Thousand Student Study Plan Forum held by the China Education Association for International Exchange.
In order to strengthen bilateral youth exchanges, enhance the quality of studying abroad, and provide suggestions for Chinese and Russian colleges and universities in international exchange education and management, experts in the forum conducted in-depth discussion and analysis about the promotion of youth exchanges and the implementation of the Sino-Russian One Hundred Thousand Student Study Plan and related issues. President of China Education Association for International Exchange ZHANG Xinsheng made a speech at the opening ceremony of the forum. Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China YU Jihai and First Secretary of Russian Embassy in China Margret Baranov attended the forum and made a speech.
Vice President REN, as representative of Chinese universities and Chinese executive of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) made a speech about vigorously promoting the concept of ASRTU, creating a new Sino-Russian talent training model and exploring new mechanisms of youth exchanges between China and Russia. He gave a comprehensive summary of the accomplishments of ASRTU in Sino-Russian scientific and technological innovative interdisciplinary talents training, building of Sino-Russian youth culture and long-term mechanisms of science and technology interaction since its establishment and the construction and development plan of the Sino-Russian Youth Friendship Exchange Year (2014-2015) in the future. During the forum, Vice President REN met with the representatives from the Pacific National University, the National University of Science and Technology MISIS, Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Perm National Research Polytechnic University. He also exchanged views and reached cooperation intentions with the Russian delegation in strengthening links between universities in scientific cooperation and personnel training, and enhancing the level of cooperation to benefit both sides.
