President WANG Shuguo Meets Delegation from Weiner Neustadt in Austria

On August 29th, President WANG Shuguo met with the new mayor of Wiener Neustadt, Austria, Bernhard Miller and his delegation. Vice President REN Nanqi also attended the meeting.

President WANG welcomes Mayor Miller and the visitors from Wiener Neustadt. He says: “Wiener Neustadt is a sister city of Harbin. We are pleased to be able to receive guests from sister cities in HIT.” President WANG introduced HIT to Mayor Miller and expressed the desire for further cooperation. He hoped that more students could make exchange visits between the two schools and further promote communication between young people from both countries.

Mayor Miller said that he was honored to be able to visit HIT. There was already a basis for cooperation between HIT and Wiener Neustadt established. There is an international project between HIT and the University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien. The University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien is planning to open new faculties and hopes to expand cooperation and exchanges with HIT. In terms of language and culture, Wiener Neustadt hopes to build a Confucius Institute to promote Chinese culture in Wiener Neustadt.

The Director of Wiener Neustadt Mayor’s office, Klaus Belvin and the Politics Editor of the biggest daily newspaper of Austria Kronen Zeitung, Kurt Sennitz accompanied Mayor Bernhard Miller.
