He said that more than 200 HIT students had gone to Taiwan on exchange every year as well as teachers making many academic visits to Taiwan and establishing a series of cooperative projects with Taiwanese enterprises. In such an active period he hoped that TEEMA could learn about the diverse strengths of HIT so that the both sides could find a core of mutual understanding to take advantage of their strengths and expand their areas of cooperation, and promote the development of cross-strait relations.
During the meeting, Vice Dean of the Industrial Technology Research Institute ZHAO Yijie introduced HIT to the delegation, including research funding, significant achievements, cooperation with Russia and research cooperation. Representatives of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Robotics Institute and the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding Production Technology reported on the scientific research of their departments. The Taiwan delegation introduced their organization, their industrial services and business operations. The two sides also discussed integrated school-enterprise research, new product development, project cooperation and cross-strait personnel exchanges. They agreed on working to deepen their mutual understanding and strengthening their cooperation to achieve mutual benefits.
Chairman GUO said in his speech that HIT was a school with a long history, real strength in scientific research and excellent teaching staff. In the future TEEMA will continue to focus on the development of HIT and organize high quality seminars between their entrepreneurs and our school. They will continue to expand cooperation in many areas between both sides to play a role of “bridge” to promote rapid cross-strait economic development.
