September 10,Assistant President XU Dianguo met the Vice Dean Faculty of Engineering of Hokkaido University, Professor Toyohura NAWA and his delegation. Representatives from the School of Energy Science and Engineering, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, the School of Civil Engineering and the School of International Co-education also attended the meeting.

Assistant President XU first gave a warm welcome to the guests and introduced our University. He pointed out that, for many years, our university has cooperated with Hokkaido University to encourage professors to exchange ideas with each other, and achieved fruitful results. He hoped that we could maintain the friendly cooperation relationship in the future and cooperate in many more areas and to achieve common development. Vice Dean Nawa hoped that the two schools can cooperate in scientific research for the long term, especially in terms of student exchanges.

Hokkaido University is a comprehensive university. Its predecessor was Sapporo Agricultural College. It became a new University after the reform of the school system in 1949. Its departments include French, Education, Science, Medical Science, Engineering, Agriculture and Aquatic Products. In 2004, it became a national university. Today Hokkaido University has 12 schools and 15 graduate schools. It has 15000 students and 4500 faculty and staff. HIT signed an International Friendship and Cooperation Agreement with the School of Engineering of Hokkaido University in 2009.
