On September 10, the twenty-ninth Teacher's Day, HIT’s school flag and Students’ Letters travelling by Shenzhou 10 returned to HIT. The ceremony to welcome them back was held at the HIT Museum. President WANG Shuguo, Party Secretary WANG Shuquan, , Vice President DENG Zongquan, Vice President DING Xuemei and Vice President ZHANG Hongtao attended the ceremony.
Vice President DING presided over the ceremony. Vice President DENG read out a letter from the Beijing Fangyuan Notary Public Office about the flag and letters of HIT travelling on Shenzhou 10. The teachers and students participating in the ceremony watched the video of the return of Shenzhou 10 and recalled the series of achievements that Shenzhou 10 had made. Staff displayed the student letters and the school flag.
“As a student of HIT, when told the news about the initiative for student letters and the school flag traveling by Shenzhou 10, I felt so excited and proud,” said the chairman of the Postgraduate Union of HIT, FANG Ming. ”Generations of excellent HIT students have devoted themselves to the aerospace industry and to national defense and set a shining example for us. As HIT students of a new generation, we should taking on the great mission of serving our country’s aerospace industry, passing the shining torch to achieve 'Space dream', 'Chinese dream' and 'Prosperity dream' within the hearts and minds of all students”.
President WANG said in his speech that welcoming the flag which traveled by Shenzhou 10 and formally exhibiting the letters in the HIT Museum are of great importance and have far-reaching influence. This is affirmation and encouragement of HIT to keep a foothold in aerospace and defense services for years to come. HIT plays an important role in our country and nation realizing Space dream and Chinese dream. HIT and HIT alumni have made great contributions, which have been honored and affirmed many times by the higher authorities. As new and old alumni getting together and pursuing our dreams, driven by Space dream and Chinese dream, we must work together to achieve better results for a better future and a prosperous country.
