September 17th, HIT Vice President HAN Jiecai met HIT Chief International Academic Adviser, the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, NASA Lifetime Achievement Award winner and Johns Hopkins University Professor Dr. Robert W. Farquhar and his delegation. Representatives from departments including the International Office, Personnel Department and the School of Astronautics also attended the meeting.
Dr.Farquhar is a famous American professor dedicated to the field of deep-space exploration. Over several years, he has actively promoted cooperation between China and America and between universities in these two countries in the field of deep space exploration. Vice President HAN said: Deep-space exploration is a common area of research interest for China and the world. China and America need to deepen cooperation between their universities. He hopes that Dr.Farquhar will lead to an opportunity for cooperation in the field of the deep-space exploration between HIT and Johns Hopkins University in the near future.
