In the 13th National Collegiate Athletics Championships held from July 22nd to 27th, our students achieved excellent results. They achieved 2 champions, 2 runners-up, 1 second runner-up and 17 top eights, and finally won ninth place in Group A with 94.5 points.
The National Collegiate Athletics Championships is the largest of all domestic track and field events. For years it has played an important role in strengthening exchanges between the universities and promoting the comprehensive development of students.
The 13th National Collegiate Athletics Championships was hosted by the Federation University Sports of China, co-hosted by the Athletics Branch of Federation University Sports of China, the Education & Technology Department of State Ethnic Affairs Commission of the PRC and the Education Department of Gansu Province, and held at the Southwest University for Nationalities. Over 1300 athletes from 123 colleges and universities attended the championships. This time HIT sent 18 athletes and 17 of them achieved top eight places. Among them ZHAO Jian was the champion in the men’s 1,500 m race. JIANG Lai was the champion in the men’s 400 meter hurdles. LU Zaishui was the runner-up in the men's 1,500 m race. JIANG Lai, LU Zaishui, ZHANG Yiran, SUN Bowen were the runner-up in the men’s 4×400m relay race. PANG Shuwen was the second runner-up in the women’s 100 meter hurdles. SHEN Hui, PANG Shuwen, WANG Shuai and TIAN Sijia gained the forth place in the women’s 4×100m relay race. LI Yanyang and GUO Junzuo gained the fifth place in the men’s high jump. ZHAO Xingmeng gained the fifth place in both women’s 800m and 1000m races. LIU Zhi gained the sixth place in the men’s 110 meter hurdles. SHEN Hui, ZHAO Xingmeng, WANG Shuai and TIAN Sijia gained the sixth place in the women’s 4×400m relay race. TIAN Songlin gained both the seventh place in the men’s 10000m race and the eighth place in the men’s 3000m steeplechase. ZHENG Xin gained the seventh place in the women’s high jump. SU Shan gained the seventh place in the women’s 1500m race. SHEN Hui gained the eighth place in the women’s 400 meter hurdles. LU Zaishui gained the sixth place in the men’s 800m race. WANG Jiawen gained the fifth place in the women’s shot put. WANG Shuai gained the eighth place in the women’s 100 meter hurdles.
