Professor Wei ZHAO from University of Macau visits HIT

On September 25, Professor Wei ZHAO, Rector of the University of Macau and WANG Qi, the Director of the Global Affairs Office visited HIT. Secretary of the Supervision Division CAI Jujin, Assistant President XU Dianguo and Assistant President XU Xiaofei met with Professor ZHAO and his delegation.

Secretary CAI on behalf of President WANG Shuguo welcomed the guests from the University of Macau. He introduced the history, academic environment and scientific research strengths of our school to them. Assistant President XU Dianguo and Assistant President XU Xiaofei held discussions with the delegation about strengthening international exchanges and cooperation and innovation in undergraduate training. Professor ZHAO congratulated our school’s successful launch of the third micro satellite Kuaizhou-1. He praised the achievements of our school and hoped to strengthen cooperation between the two universities and have great academic influence on China, the Asia-Pacific region and even all over the world. During the visit, Professor ZHAO and his delegation also visited the School of Computer Science and Technology and gave a wonderful academic presentation on the "Theory and Implementation of Internet of Things".

The University of Macau is the first modern university and the only public comprehensive university in Macau. In 2013, the University of Macau rank in the QS Asian University Rankings was 201-250. Our university signed an intercollegiate cooperation agreement with University of Macau and will send exchange students to the University of Macau in March next year. In November, the new campus of University of Macau Hengqin will be completed in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone.
