February 21, a donation ceremony was held at HIT where Rockwell Automation donated automation equipment worth 1.1million RMB to HIT. Party Secretary WANG Shuquan, on behalf of our school accepted the donation from Rockwell Automation’s Senior Vice President Doug Hagerman. 

The HIT Rockwell Automation Lab was founded in June 2000. Its predecessor was the HIT Rockwell Automation Center, founded in June 1997. Rockwell Automation has altogether donated advanced automation equipment worth more than 6million RMB to HIT. It provides the opportunity for teachers and students to learn about the latest technological developments in the field of the international automation. The company also provides an important experimental base through the combination of teaching, experiments and engineering practice for students’ development.

Party Secretary WANG in his speech expressed the thanks to Rockwell Automation Corp. for their donation. He said that Rockwell Automation has had good cooperation with HIT for more than ten years. The latest donation will allow teachers and students operate some of the world class equipment for the first time. HIT will continue to support future development of the laboratory, and expand the areas of bilateral cooperation even further. Director of the Harbin Investment Promotion Bureau JI Ping attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He hoped that HIT and Rockwell Automation can continue to enhance their industrial cooperation by strengthening cooperation in the laboratory so they can both obtain mutual benefits. Rockwell Senior Vice President Hagerman said that during the development and growth of Rockwell Automation, they have actively promoted the cultivation of talents in the automation field in various ways. The company will continue to introduce the latest technology and products into Chinese universities, and make contributions to promote the development of Chinese education. Representatives of the International Office, Undergraduate School, School of Electrical Engineering and Automation including faculty and students also attended the donation ceremony.

After the ceremony, Senior vice president Hagerman visited the HIT Rockwell Automation Lab.
