Recently , invited by the President of the Royal Microscopical Society , founder of the confocal microscopy theory, academician of Royal Academy of Engineering, Professor of Oxford University Tony Wilson, and chief scientist of the National Physical Laboratory Measurement Engineering Department Professor Richard Leach, Professor LIU Jian of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation was selected as one of the editorial board members of the Journal of Microscopy and the Surface Topography: Metrology & Properties.
In recent years, Professor LIU made important breakthrough in the study of three-dimensional stereo micro imaging and microscopy instrumentation calibration. The result of the research was highly praised by the leading experts in the field and academic organizations.
The Royal Microscopical Society was founded in 1839. It has 175 years of history. The famous optics guru Joseph Jackson Lister was one of the founders. The Journal of Microscopy is one of the most authoritative academic journals of microscopy technique and instruments. Surface Topography: Metrology & Properties was founded because of a broad consensus of experts in international standardization organizations, to promote the field of materials, physics, chemistry, engineering surveying and be at the forefront of academic research and other related standardization processes associated with surface characteristics.
