HIT PhD Student successful in IBM PhD Fellowship Awards Program

Recently, the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program for  the 2014-2015 academic year were announced. PhD student CUI Lei, of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, jointly trained by the Ministry of Education-Microsoft Key Laboratory of NLP &Speech in HIT and Microsoft Research Asia was successful.

The IBM PhD Fellowship Awards Program is an intensely competitive worldwide program, honoring exceptional Ph.D. students who have an interest in solving problems that are important to IBM and fundamental to innovation in many academic disciplines and areas of study. It is the doctoral award scheme of IBM's high-end talent cultivation for global universities. It includes providing doctoral fellowship awards ( an allowance used to pay for doctoral students in school), paid internship positions in IBM research center or IBM software development research center, and IBM instructors for relevant internships subjects for PhD students. In 2002, IBM introduced the PhD Fellowship Program into China. This year’s review lasted more than three months, and more than 350 outstanding doctoral students from various colleges and universities around the world were involved in the process.
