Bio of Prof. ZHU

Professor Zhu Zhengya is an internationally renowned experimental geophysicists. Since 1990, he has been engaged in research work in the Earth Resources Laboratory at the Department of Earth Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has done a great number of research in the field of ultrasonic testing, acoustic logging, wave dynamics, acoustic propagation in anisotropic media and he has made outstanding achievements particularly in the area of fluid -saturated porous medium electrokinetic coupling effect. He is the first observation to the wells along the longitudinal elastic wave, elastic-wave electromagnetic field, which has attracted widespread attention. In addition, Prof. ZHU has sufficient experience for Chinese students applying for admission to study in MIT. The lecture focuses on teaching and research in MIT. After that, Prof. ZHU will present a report in ultrasonic and electrokinetic effect in the Science Building.
