Bio of Prof. CAI
Professor CAI Yongshun received his Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University, USA in 2001. After graduating, he worked as an assistant professor in the National University of Singapore. He joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (QS2013 world ranking 33) in 2004. He served as an assistant professor, associate professor and professor respectively. He is the author of Chinese Cadre Management, Chinese Mass Incidents, State and Laid-off Workers and other works in English at Stanford University Press. He has published numerous scholarly articles in top international journals, which has a great impact in the academy.
