March 25th to 27th, Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University Rector Boris Yakimovich and his delegation visited HIT, and signed a cooperation agreement.
HIT President WANG Shuguo met with the delegation. President WANG pointed out that HIT has deep historical roots with Russia. Two universities should uphold the fine traditions of cooperation and constantly explore new modes of innovative cooperation between universities of China and Russia in new situations. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, as member of Russian-side of Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU), has become one of the priorities of cooperation partners of HIT in Russia. President WANG hopes that the two universities can carry out more effective and more sustainable education and research cooperation under the framework of ASRTU. Rector Boris Yakimovich thinks highly of HIT’s achievements in recent years. He expressed a strong desire to cooperate with HIT in fields including personnel training and scientific research. He wants that two universities to maintain close relationships with each other, and carry out win-win cooperation on the basis of complementary strengths. After the meeting, President WANG and Rector Kalashnikov Izhevsk signed the cooperation agreement.
During the visit, the delegations visited the School of Management, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Electrical and Automation and the School of Material Science and Engineering. They also visited the State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment, HIT Rockwell Automation Lab, the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding and Joining, the National Key Laboratory of Space Materials and Environmental Engineering, and the National Key Laboratory of Metal Precision Hot Processing. The delegation reached a preliminary cooperation agreement with the related schools through the seminars with the schools leadership and professors and visits to the laboratories. These lay the foundation for further cooperation between two schools in areas including the future joint training of high-level talents in Masters and PhD Degrees, joint development of cutting-edge technology and bilateral academic exchanges.
Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was founded in 1952. It is located in Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic of Russia. It ranked 19 in Russia according to EU INF CSA-2666 and 174 in the world and 3 in Russia in the Global World Communicator Education and Science. The university has 11 faculties and 1 institute, with 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students, including 65 engineers-oriented majors, 48 undergraduate majors and 37 graduate majors.
