On March 27th, the opening ceremony of the Scientific Research Center for Construction under Extreme Climate was held in HIT. Professor Kas Oosterhuis from Delft University of Technology was appointed as a guest professor by HIT. Leaders of the School of Architecture and the Architectural Design and Research Institute of HIT made a presentation to Professor Kas, and they signed cooperation agreements.

Professor Kas is a world renowned architect and world-class academic leader in parametric design, interactive design and especially architectural design under extreme climate.

The center is being established to enhance HIT’s level of scientific research in the discipline of architecture and to promote international exchanges and cooperation. According to the current situation and development plans of both research teams, the center will integrate mutual academic resources, begin cooperation in teaching and personnel training, and through complementary strengths boost the level of scientific research as well as the publication of scientific and technological achievements.
