HIT school staffs succeed in 12th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship

On March 19, the 12th "Dream Cup" Hong Kong Wushu International Championship was held in Hong Kong. Our school faculty team participated in two Group events and eight Individual events in all 12 categories. We won 2 champion group awards, 14 individual gold prizes, six silver prizes and one bronze prize. There are also two people ranking forth, one ranking sixth and one ranking eighth.

The 12th Wushu International Championship was organized by the Hong Kong Wushu International Festival Committee. The competition included Chinese Wushu grade evaluation, Wushu Taolu (routine) Competition, Professional difficulty of Wushu Taolu, Stunt skill, Health Qigong, Tai Chi Rouliqiu (Tai Chi Soft Ball), Taekwondo, and Free Combat Championship. The competition attracted more than 5,000 contestants and 436 teams from more than 50 countries and regions.

Professor WU Gaohui, doctoral tutor in the School of Material Science and Engineering and Chairman of the Martial Art Association of HIT, and Professor DUAN Guangren, doctoral tutor in the School of Astronautics and Vice-chairman in the Martial Art Association of HIT as team leaders, Vice-chairman DONG Ping as Head Coach, and 10 people from the teacher representative team of the Martial Art Association of HIT were in the team which attended. After an invitation by the Hong Kong Wushu International Festival Committee, Vice-chairman DONG was the Chief Judge.
