On April 8th, Solothurn Education Minister Remo Ankli and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland President of the Board of Directors Crispino Bergamaschi and their delegation visited HIT, and signed a student exchange agreement with the HIT School of Management. Assistant President XU Dianguo held discussions with President Bergamaschi and the delegation.
The cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and the HIT School of Management began in August, 2013. The two universities cooperate in several areas including student internships. According to the new agreement, each side will select four undergraduate students each year for exchange. The exchange period will be from one semester to one year; and both sides will recognize the related courses’ credits. The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland also signed a five-year agreement with the Heilongjiang Human Resources and Social Security Bureau to train 100 corporate executives per year for Heilongjiang Province.
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland is located in central Europe and was formed from a merger in 2006 of four state Universities of Applied Sciences. It has more than 7000 undergraduate students, with majors including business, engineering, architecture, civil engineering, education, social science, music, art and design, and life sciences. The university has 55 Institutes dedicated to application-oriented research and development and consultation and professional higher education. The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland School of Business is Switzerland’s leading provider of continuing education in business management, including the Institute for Competitiveness and Communication, the Institute for Finance, the Institute for Human Resource Management, the Institute for Information Systems, the Institute of Management and the Institute for Nonprofit- and Public Management.
