March 25, HIT Professor BAI Yu in the Academy of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Science, the Institute of Chemistry and Energy Material Innovation, published a paper entitled "Titanium Dioxide Nanomaterials for Photovoltaic Applications " in the internationally renowned journal Chemical Reviews, with the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Talents Program of HIT.

The study was a collaboration between the Academy of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Science in HIT, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Spain Universitat Jaume I and Italy Università Degli Studi di Perugia. Professor BAI was the lead author. The other authors were Ivań Mora-Seró, Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Physics, Universitat Jaume I de Castello,́ Filippo De Angelis, senior research scientist and deputy director at the CNR Institute of Molecular Sciences and Technology, in Perugia, Italy, Juan Bisquert, Professor of Applied Physics at Universitat Jaume I de Castello,́ Spain and Peng Wang, Professor of Chemistry at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

This paper conducts a comprehensive commentary on the application of Titanium dioxide nanomaterials in photovoltaic devices in the past five years. With a new perspective, it gives an in-depth analysis of the key science questions in developing the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cells through Titanium dioxide nanostructure construction and nano-and microscale interface modification charge transfer. It clarifies the development trends and potential applications of nano-titanium dioxide photovoltaic devices. The paper has important significance for this field of study.
Professor BAI came to the Academy of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Science in HIT in 2012 through the Talent Program, and at the end of the same year was selected into the first group of the HIT Top Young Talent Recruiting Program. Currently, Professor BAI is engaged in the research of key organic photovoltaic materials, new photovoltaic devices and efficient and low-cost solar cells.
Chemical Reviews is one of the most highly regarded and highest-ranked journals covering the general topic of chemistry. The journal has published since 1985 periodic thematic issues focusing on a single theme or direction of emerging research. The mission of Chemical Reviews is to provide comprehensive, authoritative, critical, and readable reviews of important recent research in organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, theoretical, and biological chemistry. Chemical Reviews has the highest Impact Factor in Chemistry at 41.298 and is also a highly cited journal in the category of Multidisciplinary Chemistry with 112,596 total citations, as reported by the 2012 Journal Citation Reports.
