March 25th to 27th, Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technology University and his delegation visited HIT, and signed a cooperation agreement.
President WANG Shuguo met with the delegation. He said that HIT has deep historical roots with Russia, and cooperation between the two universities should uphold the fine tradition of history. The two schools should constantly explore new modes of innovate cooperation. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, as member of the Russian side of Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU), has become one of the major cooperation partners of HIT in Russia. President WANG hopes that the two universities could carry out more effective and sustainable education and research cooperation under the framework of ASRTU. Rector Boris Yakimovich spoke highly of the achievements of HIT in recent years, and expressed a strong desire to cooperate with HIT in talent training, scientific research, and other fields. He hopes the two universities could maintain close contact with each other, and carry out win-win cooperation on the basis of complementary advantages. After talks, Rector Boris Yakimovich and President Wang signed a cooperation agreement between the two universities.
During the visit, the delegation visited the School of Management, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Electronics and Information Engineering and the School of Material Science and Engineering. They also visited the State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment, Rockwell Automation Laboratory, the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding Production Technology, the National Key Laboratory of Space Materials and Environmental Engineering and the National Key Laboratory of Precision Hot Processing of Metal. The delegation and related schools reached a preliminary agreement for future cooperation through seminars with school leadership and professors and visits to laboratories, and laid foundation for cooperation between the two schools in joint high-level talents training, joint cutting-edge technology research and development and academic exchanges of experts.
Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was founded in 1952. It is located in Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic of Russia. According to world University Rankings European Norm, it ranks 19 in Russia, and ranks 174 in the world and 3 in Russia in Global World Communicator Education and Science. The University comprises 11 faculties and 1 institute, in which 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students study. It has 65 engineers-oriented majors, 48 undergraduate majors, and 37 graduate majors.
