Federation of Young Talents Established at HIT

On Youth Day, HIT officially established the Federation of Young Talents. The Inaugural and first General Assembly meeting was held. Assistant President AN Shi, attended the meeting and presented the Federation of Young Talents a flag.

Professor XING Defeng presided over the meeting. ZHANG Guohong, Vice Executive Chairman of the School Union announced establishment of the Federation of Young Talents in HIT. The meeting approved the draft HIT Federation of Young Talents Regulations. According to the Regulations, under the leadership of the school committees and the specific guidance of the School Union, the Federation dedicated to building a platform for the exchange of ideas and the communication of science among young teachers. Moreover, the Federation will make contributions to the ollaborative innovation and the overall development of HIT young talents. The Federation will conduct an interdisciplinary academic salons, interdisciplinary academic forums, and thematic academic discipline meetings about particular subjects. Furthermore, it will participate in and hold interscholastic and international activities, organize social activities, and make contributions to local economic and social development based on the Federation members’ expertise. The Federation will also strengthen ties between the young teachers in their daily lives, organize various cultural and sports activities as well as various different recreational activities to enrich the cultural life of young teachers. The meeting approved the Members of the Committee of HIT Federation of Young Talents. XING Defeng is the President, YU Miao and LIU Jian are the Vice Executive Presidents, WANG Hong, SHUAI Yong, YAN Yongda, LV Haibao and ZHANG Xiaohang are the Vice Presidents, and YU Qingyong is the Secretary General. There are 27 people on the Committee.

YANG Hua, Federation of Young Talents representative, professor of the School of Civil Engineering and YANG Ming, of the Academy of Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Sciences showed that the establishment of the Federation of Young Talents provides a platform for exchange and cooperation among young teachers. It also helps young teachers to improve themselves. As members of the Federation of Young Talents, young teachers should take an active part in the activities, make contributions to the Federation and contribute to making HIT a world-class university.

Assistant President AN explained that the establishment of the Federation of Young Talents is of great significance and has potential far-reaching impacts. He hoped that the Federation would play an effective role in helping the development of young teachers and contributing to the development of HIT. He also had several expectations: Young teachers should have a sense of ownership and actively seek to come up with new ideas. They should have lofty ideals and objectives and a sense of responsibility. They should balance their own development to the demands of school and the nation. They should strengthen interdisciplinary academic exchanges and cooperation and broaden academic horizons, share academic resources and achieve common development.
