April 19th to 26th, at the invitation of the Russian universities, HIT Assistant President XU Dianguo visited the National University of Science and Technology (MISIS), Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Lomonosov Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University with a delegation from HIT. The HIT delegation was composed of representatives from the School of Material Science and Engineering, the School of International Co-Education and the International Student Center. This visit highlighted international cooperation as a HIT feature, personnel training, academic exchanges and scientific cooperation as a link to promote bilateral major discipline joint research, to create a new model of inter-school cooperation.
April 21st, Assistant President XU visited the National University of Science and Technology "MISIS" Vice-Rector of Research and Innovation, Mikhail R. Filonov. They held discussions on how to cooperate and share in the fields of materials science and engineering teaching and research resources, apply for research projects and train high-level personnel. Eight professors from the School of Material Science and Engineering held discussions one on one with the professors from the same field in MISIS. They further clarified the cooperation plans through seminars, academic reports and laboratory visits. The delegation also participated in the VII Eurasian Scientific-Practical Conference "The Strength of Heterogeneous Structures" held in MISIS. In the conference, several professors from HIT made keynote speeches.
April 22nd, Assistant President XU went to Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University to attend the Sixth International Conference: “Technical Universities: Integration with European and World Education Systems”. Assistant President XU made a keynote speech entitled "Promote the concept of ASRTU, create a new Sino-Russian personnel training model, explore new ways to exchange China and Russia youth culture", as a representative of Chinese universities and China and Russia University of Technology Alliance deputy executive. Assistant President XU provided a comprehensive summary of the great achievements in China and Russia complex technological innovation personnel training and Chinese and Russian youth culture, science and technology interaction since the establishment of ASRTU. He also introduced the “China-Russia Youth Year of Friendship Exchanges in 2014 to 2015” Development Plan.
In the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the delegation visited the new materials, composite materials and nanotechnology, photonics and infrared rays, plasma, nanotechnology and microsystems technology laboratories, and they also held discussions with relevant experts. During the visit, the delegation and relevant universities held discussions on the 2014 Sino-Russian Young Scientists Forum and 2014 Sino-Russian Symposium on Advanced Materials and Processing Technology and 2014 ASRTU Conference preparation works in St. Petersburg.
