HIT Alumni Launch HIT Alumni Association in Washington

Recently, HIT alumni in the Washington area, including Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia, took positive action and launched a HIT alumni association in the Washington area. Others from as far away as Pennsylvania and New Jersey were also involved. The Dean of the School of Mechatronic Engineering ZHAO Xuezeng and Professor WANG Wuyi presented a school flag to them.

Many associations and famous people participated in the preparatory work, including scientists, visiting scholars of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Space Agency (NASA), professors and researchers of the University of Maryland, George Washington University and Howard University, many outstanding scientists and engineers of high-tech companies in the Washington area, business man in the greater Washington area, as well as highly respected Chinese community leaders. In just two months, a group of HIT alumni with diverse learning and work experience come together and developed a spiritual home for HIT alumni in Washington region.

In order to expand the overseas influence of HIT, to enrich the life of alumni, and to promote their professional development, the HIT Alumni Association in the Washington area conducted a number of activities during the preparation period. It hosted the HIT 2014 Thousand People Plan, held the first alumni party, and improved contacts and communication between HIT and the alumni.
