Professor John Beynon of University of Adelaide visits HIT

    From July 7-17, the Executive Dean of Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences of the University of Adelaide, Professor John Beynon visited HIT to attend meetings about the C9-Go8 "Shadow Program." 


     On July 9, Professor Beynon met Vice President of HIT, Professor DING Xuemei. They discussed the development of each university and the cooperation of different disciplines. On July 10, Professor Beynon met Assistant President XU Xiaofei and representatives of the undergraduate school. Assistant President XU briefly introduced the education of undergraduate students at HIT, the summit meeting of universities of China and Australia, as well as the science and technology competition between HIT and the University of Adelaide to Professor Beynon.
During his stay in HIT, Professor Beynon visited the International Cooperation Department, the Department of Mathematics, the School of Civil Engineering, the State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment and the School of Materials Science and Engineering.He had a discussion with representatives of the Graduate School about the education of graduate students, and communicated with Professor GENG Lin of the School of Materials Science and Engineering about the “shadow plan ". 
  
     The "Shadow Plan" is a regular programbetweenAustralia and China. The main goal of the planis for universities from each country to sendpersonnel to universities in the other countryin order to more deeply understand the operation of the university and scientific research and to increase mutual understanding and promote cooperation between Chinese and Australian universities.
