To celebrate the “2014-2015 China-Russia Youth Year” and to accelerate cultural communication between Chinese and Russian youth, the “Chinese and Russian College Musical Cultural Communication Summer Camp & the Awarding Ceremony of the Attractive Songs Contest in Chinese Campus” was held on September 14th by the Chinese Art Education Promotion Committee, the Heilongjiang Education Department and the Harbin Sun Island Scenic Authority.Yuliya, a Russian Ph.D. student from the School of Economics and Management of HIT won first prize withateam of Russian students studying in China with her excellent performance. XU Mei, Secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Universities Working Association, andthe Party Secretary and director of the Provincial Education Department, awarded the trophy to Yuliya.

Nearly 1000 Chinese and Russian youth from alluniversities in Harbin gathered on Sun Island. Nearly 200 Chinese and Russian students from HIT attended the activity arranged by HIT’s International Office，the International Student Center and the School Youth League. The theme of this summer camp was “Youth•Dream.” By holding sports games, theatrical performances and teamwork games,Chinese and Russian students had many opportunities to communicate and work together.

The Attractive Songs Contest in Chinese Campus Awarding Ceremony opened with the dance “Youth and Dream,” which embodied the atmosphere of the event. “Katyusha,” “Those Flowers,” ”Summer of Harbin,” “On the Hills of Manchuria,” and many other classic songs expressed the deep friendship between China and Russia.Dances titled, “Chinese and Russian Barbie,”and “Winter Love” showcasedthe abilities of both Chinese and Russian students even more. Wonderful melodies and vibrant dances became a shared language between nations, drawing students together and deepening friendships between Chinese and Russian youth.
