HIT attends Seventh China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week

From September 1-2, HIT Assistant President XU Xiaofei attended the opening ceremony of The Seventh China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week in Guiyang and gavea speech.

The Seventh China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was mainly attended by Excellence 9 (E9), and eight universities from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Mahidol University and Chulalongkorn University. Assistant President XU gave a speech on international cooperation and exchanges and talent training, introduced HIT’s international development and the present situation of its international students and welcomed all university students from the ASEAN to study atHIT.

At the end of the activity, all participating universities signed a joint declaration and reached a consensus on carrying out exchanges to lay the foundation for substantial cooperation between Chinese and ASEAN universities. In the joint declaration, all university representatives agreed that ACNET-EngTech will hold regular seminars and working conferences, will establish acooperative mechanism within association members, and will further discuss the mode of educational development and cooperation. The cooperation will also be conducted in open courses, talent exchanges, scholarships and double major programs. Around the theme of “Hand in Hand, Education for the People,” The Seventh China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week reflected peace, communication, understanding, cooperation and a win-win philosophy. University representatives from different countries met in Guiyang and talked about educational development.

The Seventh China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was sponsored by the ASEAN-China Centre, the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RICHD) and E9 and organized by Guizhou Institute of Technology (GIT).
