No matter where students are, they always miss their alma mater. On the afternoon of September 19, 1986 alumni HOU Nianchun and 1989 alumni ZHAO Zhenguo of the School of Transportation Science and Technology donated 190,000 yuan to the HIT Education Development Foundation for the construction of a laboratory building for the School of Transportation Science and Technology. The president of the Foundation, CPC Party Secretary of HIT, WANG Shuquan issued a commemorative medal, certificates and an educational contribution medal to the donors.
The Vice President of the Foundation, Vice President of Alumni Association, CUI Guolan signed a donation agreement with HOU Nianchun. Deputy Secretary-General, Deputy Director of the Alumni Affairs Office, GUO Junwei, read the decisions.
HOU and ZHAO said that although they left HIT more than 20 years ago, they, and all alumni still love HIT very much. HIT and its teachers have been the foundation of their career development. They are willing to provide assistance in the construction and development of HIT, and help the development of School of Transportation Science and Technology.
WANG expressed thankful feelings to both the donors for their generosity. He said that their behavior not only reflects their love for HIT, but also shows the important role of alumni in the development and construction of the university. HIT will continue to focus on the growth of alumni, to strengthen the ties between alumni and the university, and to support their career development.
Representatives from the Alumni Office, the Harbin Institute of Technology Education Development Foundation, and the School of Transportation Science and Technology attended the ceremony.
