On September 18th, the appointment ceremony of the Vice Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) and RWTH Chair of Laser Technology Ingomar Kelbassa was held at HIT. Professor Kelbassa was hired as HIT Visiting Professor. Vice President AN Shi presented the letter of appointment. Relevant individuals in the School of Material Science and Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding and Joining attended the ceremony.
Vice President AN Shi praised the outstanding achievements of Professor Kelbassa in the field of Laser Additive Manufacturing. He expressed hope that both sides can have more exchanges and cooperation in the field of Laser Additive Manufacturing to achieve mutual improvement and development.
Professor Kelbassa has done 13 years of research in this field and enjoys high academic status and influence in the international arena. He said he was very proud to be an HIT Visiting Professor, and expressed his desire to carry out exchanges and cooperation in related fields as soon as possible, in order to contribute to the academic development ofHIT.
