Harbin Institute of Technology Youth Staff Center officially opens

On the evening of October 16th, an opening ceremony for the HIT Youth Staff Center was held in Room 208 of the HIT Activity Center. The opening ceremony was sponsored by the HIT Labor Union and organized by the HIT Staff Vocal Association.
 
REN Nanqi, Vice President of HIT and ZHANG Guohong, Vice President of the HIT Labor Union both attended the opening ceremony. Vice President ZHANG gave details about the basic situation of the HIT Youth Staff Center. The HIT Youth Staff Center aims to foster Eight Hundred Heroes of the new generation, guiding young staff to realize the Chinese Dream and to contribute to founding a first-class international university. It also strives to build a platform for academic exchanges and collaborative innovation among young staff, to strengthen their cohesiveness and competitiveness, to increase their subjective well-being at work and to promote their full development. With the idea of cohesion, improvement, sharing and joy, and through joint efforts between the Heilongjiang Education Union and the HIT Labor Union, Room 208 of the HIT Activity Center, was set up in July as a major activity location for the HIT Youth Staff Center. The space is nearly one hundred square meters, can accommodate more than 60 people, and includes a music appreciation area, a salon exchange area and a tea-break area. Equipped with high-end specialist facilities, the room can be used for small concerts, exhibitions, parties, buffet receptions, meetings, music appreciation, concert rehearsals and tea-breaks to meet young staffs’ demands for cultural activities.
 
Vice President REN and AN Xuemin, President of the HIT Staff Vocal Association sang the song Red River Valley together at the ceremony. Vice President REN also sang a classic song, Tomorrow Will Be Better, with some members of the HIT Staff Vocal Association. Other members respectively sang songs, including, Sunshine on the Road,Konigin der Nacht, Vissi d’arte and 999 Roses. International student representatives performed classic orchestral music and were the highlight of the ceremony.
 
This fall semester, the HIT Youth Staff Center will successively hold activities including, national vocal music concerts, parties for interdisciplinary exchanges among young talents, parties for sharing overseas exchange experiences with others and calligraphy and photography exhibitions.
