On October 14th, an awarding ceremony organized by the HIT Education Development Foundation was held at the university. Shenzhen Hopewind Electric Co., Ltd. donated 1,000,000 yuan to the HIT Education Development Foundation for the use of scholarships and students’ training in the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation. HIT Party Secretary WANG Shuquan awarded the commemorative medal, certificate, and education award medal to the representatives of the company.
At the meeting, Assistant President XU Dianguo announced the decision.
 
Shenzhen Hopewind Electric Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise which specializes in new energy electric control systems, power quality management, and industrial electrical transmissions. After seven years’ rapid development and expansion,Hopewind Electric has not only taken a leading domestic position in the field of electronic control of new energy, but also grown into a comprehensive and influential electronics company. Hopewind Electric Vice President, ZHENG Dapeng, as a donor representative was also a HIT student of School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, who graduated in 1989. Vice President ZHENG has successively served as senior engineer in Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and Chief Development Officer in Liebert North American. In 2014, he was appointed as Hopewind Electric’sVice President. He also once worked in the China Power Supply Society and the China Electrotechnical Society.    
 
ZHENG Dapeng expressed gratitude to HIT in his speech. He said studying at HIT helped him accumulate wealth for future development. He was so proud to be a HIT student. He said it is his responsibility and obligation to make a contribution to the development of the school. He hopes to help schools in the form of donations to improve college students' graduation rates and the development of their education.
 
Party Secretary WANG Shuquan gave thanks to Shenzhen Hopewind Electric Co., Ltd.
He said that this kind of behavior reflected a virtue of gratitude and return. He also mentioned that HIT would use the donation well in accordance with the specific requirements and fields to make students at HIT feel love and encouragement from society as well as to provide new talent for corporations.
