Recently, Professor OU Yangfeng of the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the HIT Graduate School was honored to be nominated for the 2015International Eni Award.
According to information, Professor OU Yangfeng has published more than 120 papers, some of them published in such prestigious journals as, the Chemical Engineering Journal, the journal for Environmental Engineering Science, and the Journal of Applied Catalysis, to name a few. Professor OU has had outstanding results in the research of photocatalytic degradation of organic matter, implementingthe photocatalytic degradation rate of 65% acrylonitrile in six, nearly the standard of the industry. He has made use of the photocatalytic  degradation of chlorbenzene to generate benzaldehyde, thereby creating a new way to reuse the chlorbenzene. This nomination illustrates the affirmation his research has garnered on the international stage of energy research. Up to now, the award was still under review.
It is reported that the Eni Award was established by the Italian multinational oil and gas giant Eni Comprise, and covers four research areas. This award is regarded as the most famous unofficial Nobel Prize in the area of international energy. The Eni Award encourages more scholars to step into further research of energy and environmental issues, to share the newest research results, to promote the efficientuse of energy and the development and application of innovative technology by awarding researchers.
The evaluation experts for this award come from universities and research institutions such as, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, the University of Stuttgart and many others. Since its inception, there have been more than 60 award-winning scientists, from the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Finland and other countries, including three Nobel Prize winners.
