On November 10th, Vice President REN Nanqi accepted a Shenzhen governmentalinvitation and attended the University Roundtable and 5th Annual Conference on Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools. Domestic and international education experts discussed the theme of joint education and international talent training.
At the conference, Vice President REN reported on the Suggestion about special Schools’ Construction and Development, which elaborated about choosing ranges of disciplines, school size, operating costs and the stability of teaching staff. He described the construction process of the School of International Space and said that HIT would fully support the construction in order to enroll students earlier and achieve established educational goals. He shared the view that the School of International Space might make fulluse of the advantages of HIT, Shenzhen and the China Astronaut Research and TrainingCenter and cooperate with international universities to build a high-level, international andtalented base. Vice President REN also discussed with guests the theme of, How to achieve win-win in Chinese-Foreign joint School Running.
The Conference was held by the Center of Research on Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools, Xiamen University and Shenzhen Education Bureau, and was sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. China Association of Higher Education President, QU Zhenyuan, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Relevant people of theDepartment of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the Chinese Service Center of Scholarly Exchange and the China Education Association for International Exchange attended the conference, along with nearly 400 others, including: Nobel Prize winner Ariech Warshel, 24 academicians, about 50 university presidents and the project chiefs of Chinese-Foreign cooperative education institutions.
The conference aims to provide a high-end platform for dialogue between government, Chinese and foreign school running cooperators, university presidents, and experts, which can promote the exchange of experiences and the exploration of patterns, in order to enhance social responsibilities of Chinese and foreign school running cooperators, developtheory and management personnel, and guide public opinion. Through the conference, Chinese-Foreign cooperation in running schools is provided with strong theoretical and professional support to achieve sustained and healthy development. The conferencereceived more than 80 academic articles, and about 50 articles were selected after review by the organizing committee.
