On November 21st, Assistant President XU Xiaofei met Victor Konov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the People's Republic of China, and Director of theRussian Cultural Center in Beijing. Related staff of the International Office also attended the meeting.
Assistant President XU introduced the history of cooperation and exchanges between Russia and HIT, the status of development, and the implementation of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU). He expressed hopes that the RussianEmbassy in China and the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing could support and promote the construction of the Russian Cultural Center at HIT to further strengthen technical andcultural exchanges between Chinese and Russian universities. Konov spoke highly of the achievements of the cooperation and exchanges between HIT and Russia. He expressed willingness to fully support the construction of the Russian Cultural Center at HIT, and hoped that the ASRTU, whose establishment was led by Bauman Moscow State Technical University and HIT, could continue to play a leading role for universities of the two countriesto carry out cooperation and exchanges in personnel training and scientific research.
