On November 20th, HIT Assistant President XU Xiaofei met with Igor Valeryevich Makurin,First Vice Rector of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University and three other administrators in Room 121 of the administrative building.
Assistant President XU expressed his welcome to the delegation and introduced the basic situation of HIT and the cooperation and exchanges in talent training and scientific research between HIT and Russian universities. He said that China and Russia are both great powers for higher engineering education and discussed how better cultivating of innovative engineering talents and enhancement of scientific research levels have become preferential development directions in international cooperation and exchanges. He expressed wishes that HIT and the Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University can conduct further cooperation in the aerospace industry in future.
First Vice Rector Makurin gave a high appraisal to achievements made by the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) in the past three years, expressed a willingness to join the association and expressed hopes to further develop the cooperation in predominant disciplines between both schools through the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities in order to fully promote cooperation in talent training, academic exchanges and scientific research between both schools.
During the visit, the delegation visited the HIT Museum as well.
Administrators from the Department of International Cooperation (Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs), the School of Mechatronics Engineering and the School of Civil Engineering also attended the meeting.
