On December 30th, an awarding ceremony organized by the HIT Education Development Foundation was held at HIT. Yantai and Construction and Installation Co., Ltd. donated 5 million yuan, and Zhangjiagang Ha Gong Yao Ji Technology Co., Ltd., together with Harbin Ha Gong Food and Medicine Co., Ltd. each donated 2.5 million yuan for the use of student training, team building and development of a technology research institute. Chairman of the HIT Education Development Foundation, Party Secretary, WANG Shuquan, awarded commemorative medals and certificates to representatives of each of the companies.
Vice President HAN Jiecai read out the award. CUI Guolan, Vice Chairman of the Foundation and Vice Chairman of the HIT Alumni Union, signed the donation agreement with president YU Kaiyong (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, 1988), of Yantai and Construction and Installation Co., Ltd., and general manger WANG Hongbo (PhD of Mechanical Design and Automation, 2007), of Zhangjiagang Ha Gong Yao Ji Technology Co., Ltd., as well as Harbin Ha Gong Food and Medicine Co., Ltd. ZHENG Shixian, Secretary-General of the HIT Education Development Foundation presided over the ceremony.
In YU and WANG’s speeches, they said that their success stemmed from the cultivation of their alma mater, and the companies’ development has benefited from HIT’s support. They claimed that it was their responsibility and obligation to contribute to the development of their alma mater.
YANG Linsheng, deputy director of Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone Administration Committee, and relevant personnel of functional departments attended the ceremony. YANG introduced the advantages of the relevant industrial cluster, and expressed hope that HIT could offer more talent and technology to support the field of advanced intelligent manufacturing. In addition, he expected to accelerate the pace of building an innovative development zone with the advantages of related professional knowledge from HIT.
Party Secretary WANG gave thanks to the support of YU Kaiyong and WANG Hongbo on behalf of HIT, and also welcomed YANG and his delegation. He said that HIT’s development is inseparable from their long-term support and that HIT would always pay attention to the development of alumni, and provide them with support to make greater achievements in their respective fields. He also said that HIT attaches great importance to the commercialization of research findings and support the
construction of local economy. The city of Yantai is equipped with a solid industrial foundation. HIT is willing to build a cooperation platform in the field of advanced equipment manufacturing and industrial equipment research and development to put talent to good use, to improve economic performance and to enhance regional competitiveness.
