According to the relevant requirements of the state for social organizations, the Harbin Institute of Technology Education Development Foundation was rated at the 5A level by the Department of Civil Affairs of Heilongjiang Province. After a process of self-examination, self-assessment, review by the evaluation committee, reexamination by the review committee, and a public display, the HIT Education Development Foundation became the only 5A level foundation within Heilongjiang province. Only few universities were rated at the 5A level.
The HIT Education Development Foundation was established in December 2009, and aims to raise funds for the development and construction of the university, to improve the quality of education and the school's academic standards, and to promote the development of education at the university. Under the leading of the Council, the foundation always puts credibility first, strengthens the system, adheres to the principle of being fair and open, takes the initiative to accept supervision, emphasizes teamwork, and works with a spirit of standardized, scientific, professionalism, focuses on the donation culture and actively expands fund-raising channels. The foundation also builds the projects of the "LI Chang Award", and promotes the fine tradition of the university and the spirit of HIT. In recent years, with the support of the community, alumni, staff and students, the foundation is steadily developing, and is contributing significantly to the development and construction of HIT.
During the process of evaluation, the HIT Education Development Foundation actively implemented the directives of superiors to promote construction and reform, combining the evaluation with further construction. The foundation summed up the achievements and shortcomings to lay a solid foundation for the next stage of development.
