20 HIT scholars selected as Most Cited Chinese Researchers in 2014

The academic journal of Harbin Institute of Technology reports that the world-renowned publishing company, Elsevier, has released its list of the 2014 Most Cited Chinese Researchers. Twenty scholars of HIT are on the list.
 
The selected scholars are from various fields. WEI Junjie and WANG Mingxin in mathematics; GAO Huijun in electrical and electronic engineering; YING Geping, LI Zhengqi, and WANG Zhenbo in energy; XU Yong and WU Xiangqian in computer science; REN Nanqi, LI Yifan, and FENG Yujian in Environmental Science; ZHOU Zhengong in mechanics and materials; CHENG Kai and WANG Yongzhang in industry and manufacturing; WU Ligang, ZHANG Lixian, and LIU Guoping in control and systems; WANG Xiaoli and WANG You in general engineering; and LU Huilin in chemical engineering, were all included.
 
The research data collection of the list comes from the largest database index of Elsevier, the Scopus database, which is appraised and indexed by the counterpart. The database is based on the massive systematic analysis of the references, authors, and research data that is relevant to research activities, aiming at scientific analysis and evaluation of Chinese scholars’ influence in the world.
 
The Scopus database collects more than 55 million literature indexes from more than 5,500 publishers and twenty-one thousand journals all over the world, and covering all disciplines. The database provides many tools for the application of tracing, analyzing and visualizing academic study. The list included 1,651 Chinese scholars, who have international influence, from 38 disciplines including social science, physics, mechanics, math and economics to name a few.
