The final of the 2015 heat treatment innovation competition for Chinese college students was sponsored by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), Heat Treatment Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, China Heat Treatment Association (CHTA), and was undertaken by HIT and other units was held at HIT. The team representing HIT, with an excellent performance, won a special award, five first awards and the outstanding organization award.
The opening ceremony was presided over by YAN Mufu, the vice president of Chinese Heat Treatment Society and a professor of the School of Material Science and Engineering. ZHEN Liang, the assistant president, XU Yueming, the vice president of Chinese Heat Treatment Society and vice director of Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Technology, FANG Wenbin, the Sub-inspector of Education Department of Heilongjiang Province and ZHAO Xiaodan, the vice president of Harbin Association for Science and Technology attended the ceremony and gave speeches.
The heat treatment innovation competition for Chinese college students is a competition for college students with the major of material science and engineering and other relative majors. And the competition is also an important part in training excellent engineers of material heat treatment. Guided by the principle of “solid foundation, deep integration and big innovation”, with the idea of “Practice what you learn and touch the void”, the competition takes the creative achievements of material heat treatment and surface modification as the content. There were a total of 47 teams in the final competition from 30 universities, such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwest University,
Tsinghua University and Peking University.
