Currently, 2015 UIA-Public Health Group Seminar & GUPHA Meeting was held in Dalian. In the international competition of “the design of mobile isolation diagnosis and treatment to prevent Ebola and other infectious diseases”, 3 works of students from the school of architecture stood out from the 147 works in the international competition and topped 15 among all of the works. And the work of ZHU Liwei, LI Nan, GUO Chang (guided by professor ZHANG Shanshan and BAI Xiaopeng) took fourth place and won the outstanding award (among top five).
This competition aims to achieve isolation and protection of emergent infectious diseases such as Ebola, SARS and H1N1 through architectural design. The expertise of medical process design and innovation of design concept that the 3 works show also got the praise of world medical architectural design experts and educationalists. Moreover, the academic team of ZHANG Shanshan gave a keynote speech and shared the experience and achievements of Chinese medical architectural education and research.
