From June 29th to July 1st, the “2015 ASRTU Gathering in Perm” was held in Perm, Russia. This event was hosted by the Association of Sino-Russian Technology Universities (ASRTU) and co-hosted by HIT, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, and Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Attending the energy innovation academic symposium, Sino-Russian undergraduate energy innovation design contest, regular meetings of ASTRU and other activities were 130 teachers and students from 30 engineering colleges and universities in ASRTU. Livanov, the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and Zhao Guocheng, the Minister Counselor at the Education Office of the Embassy of PRC in Russia sent their congratulation letters.

On the morning of June 30th, the opening ceremony of the “2015 ASTRU Gathering in Perm” was held at the hall of the main building in Perm National Research Polytechnic University. Korschunoff, the executive director of ASRTU from Russia and the deputy president of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Gu Jianzheng, the section chief of the Permanent Secretariat of ASRTU from China and the Director of the International Student Center and Irena•Ivansky, the vice chairwoman of the Perm Krai government attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Vasily• Petrov, the chairman of Perm National Research Polytechnic University gave a speech named “Cultivation of Engineering Talents in Energy Innovation Field of Perm National Research Polytechnic University”.

After the opening ceremony, the Sino-Russia undergraduate energy innovation design contest and the energy innovation academic symposium of the Sino-Russian universities were carried out at the same time. The contest was divided into four modules: energy equipment and technology, energy management, energy innovation and energy regeneration. Two teams from HIT attended the energy innovation contest and achieved great success. The team composed of Han Bing and Sun Yue received the first prize in the energy innovation contest. Sun Chen got the scientific research and innovation paper prize. The energy innovation academic symposium received 16 papers from twelve universities in total. During the meeting, experts from Chinese and Russian universities delivered speeches on the development and utilization of the wind, sun and hydrogen energy, electrical energy, new ways of waste disposal and other hot issues in Energy & Power field. Zhou Weixing, a professor from the School of Energy Science and Engineering of HIT gave a speech named “The Impact of Renewable Energy from the Pyrolysis of oil at Elevated Temperatures on the Performance of Internal Combustion Engines”, which attracted the attention of the attendants.

On the morning of July 1st, the regular meeting of 2015 ASRTU was held at the main building of Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The representatives from China and Russia exchanged their opinions on the future development of ASRTU, the cultivation of talents and scientific and research cooperation. Korschunoff, the deputy president of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, made a report on the main achievements that ASRTU had achieved in the past year. After the discussion, the Chinese side and Russian side of ASRTU reached a couple of important consensuses: build an ASRTU information data platform by collecting the papers of the scholars and experts from ASRTU published in academic journals; based on the resources of Chinese and Russian universities, build an ASRTU personnel exchange platform and conduct short-term, intercollegiate summer or winter exchange programs, short-term student exchange programs and joint training program for postgraduates, thus to achieve the goal of joint training among the universities in ASRTU; integrate the alumni resources among the universities in ASRTU and orderly promote the development of ASRTU; and define the work of ASRTU for the next year.

During the event—“the 2015 ASTRU Gathering in Perm”, HIT and Perm National Research Polytechnic University signed a cooperation and exchange agreement. The student art group from Perm National Research Polytechnic University presented a brilliant performance. Tashkinov, the president of Perm National Research Polytechnic University met with Gayicina, the minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Perm Krai and the Chinese and Russian representatives of the Permanent Secretariat of ASRTU.

It is said that the Eighth National Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Meeting will be held at HIT from September 18th to 19th. At that time, HIT will invite outstanding undergraduates from four Russian universities in ASRTU to attend the annual meeting.
