On July 16th, Heilongjiang Government, Harbin Government and HIT jointly held the opening ceremony of the HIT Welding Industry Group at the Harbin Economic-Technological Development Zone. President Zhou Yu pointed out that the establishment of the group marked the accelerated development of the new mode of the province, municipality, and university's joint scientific and technological achievements transformation, reflected the local government’s trust in HIT, and was also an important initiative of HIT to serve the local economic development. Group development needs new ideas, scientific planning, and top-level design. It should follow the idea of combining government guidance, market demand and education combined with product and research to create brands to achieve positive interaction and sustainable development of talent, technology and capital. It should strive to be the model of education combined with product and research by complementary synergism. The government and HIT should jointly create a good industrial ecology and establish the coordinated developmental institutional mechanism in all aspects to fully play to the strength of HIT in talents, technology and academics. They should further integrate domestic and foreign resources to achieve collaborative innovation alliances and promote local economic restructuring and upgrading by the cooperation with the provincial research institutions and enterprises. At the same time, quality and process management should be done well. He said that under the care and support of the provincial and municipal officials and related departments, HIT would take the foundation of the group as a new start, with confidence and spare no effort to promote the development of the group and make greater contributions to local economic development.
HIT Welding Industry Group is the second high-tech enterprise group following HIT Robot Group, which was founded relying on HIT and the provincial governments promotion. The group is based in Heilongjiang, collaborating with the country, and facing the world relying mainly on the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding and Joining and the National Industrial Welding Automation Technology Research and Application Center, and basing on welding equipment, materials, structural reliability assessment and other high-end products and technology.
