Both The Quality and Quantity of Science and Technological Theses of HIT in 2014 List Top Position in the World

On October 21st, the Conference of Statistical Results of China’s Science and Technological Theses was held in Beijing. The amount of theses published in SCI, EI, and CPCI-S as well as the patents of every scientific research institution are announced. Both the quality and quantity of science and technological theses of HIT listed top position in the world.

In terms of natural science, SCI of HIT records 2,875 theses, which ranks 12th of all universities in China. ET records 3,273 theses, which ranks 3rd, and CPCI-S records 744 theses, which ranks 2nd. There were also five theses being recorded in Science, Nature, Cell, and PNAS, which ranks 8th in all universities of China. In 2014, 18,450 international theses were quoted, which ranks 12th in China. The amount of “Outstanding” theses was 1,094, ranking 16th. The amount of the top 1/10 influential theses of SCI was 480, ranking 11th. 717 theses were coauthored as the first author, ranking 7th in China. In 2014, 156 theses were published in the world’s most influential periodicals of every subject, which ranked 5th. Besides, three theses were selected into the 2014 China's top-hundred most internationally influential academic papers, ranking 3rd in China. One thesis was selected into the 2014 China's top-hundred most nationally influential academic papers.
Regarding patents, according to the statistics of DWPI, in 2014, 885 authorized patents were given to HIT, which ranked 3rd of all universities in China.

In recent years, by strengthening the goal orientation, HIT guides the increase of both quality and quantity of science and technological theses, which has achieved a steady increase in the quantity, and the continuous promotion of quality. Especially the quantity of theses with great influence lists top position in universities of China. The school amended The Award Method of science and technological theses in 2015, aiming to improve the evaluation system and implement the reward system in layers, and promote the award standard to greatly influential theses. These drive the promotion of the international academic influence of HIT.
